Mits I use either the Eurow or Serious Performance Lambswools.
Application of products is mostly with the yellow foam hand pads, removal with Micropak/Sonus or Poorboys Microfibers.
Gives a great finish, is very very easy on and off, reasonably priced, polish and cleaner free so it can be used over sealants.

Sounds in need of a good polish.
What Colour?
Working by hand you will get best results from something like Meguiars Scratch X, Autoglym Super Resin or Klasse All in One.
P21s is easier to use then NXT, wipe it on and wipe it off straight away a panel at a time.
The way you have described the paint sound like it will need a couple of applications of SRP at least or a polish with more bite to it.
Wash
Dry
(You could clay aswell here if you liked)
Scratch X if Needed
AG Super Resin
AG Extra Gloss
Carnuba Wax if you want an extra step.
I apply everything with foam hand pads and remove with a decent microfibers.
You may find a folded terry towel gives better bite and allows you more even...
Unless they are very mild SRP wont do much, though on Silver you may get away with it.
Something like Megs Scratch X is your best bet to use by hand but will be a ball ache to do the whole car but will be worth it.
Follow that up with Autoglym Super Resin and Extra Gloss and the paint should...
Dension here aswell but with the dock cable only option.
Have ran the cable into the glovebox out the way, no drilling or sticking anything to the dash needed.
Clean up with a Wire brush and a tin of Hammerite Smooth, 5 quid job done. Looks as good and lasts as well as the expensive 2 part kits.
If you fancy taking them off the car you can use the spray hammerrite Smooth for an even nicer finish
IIRC where the Flux problems where down to Highway not Flux?
28 with 10 yrs ncb here, paying £365 f/c on my 182, also through Flux with Ensign as the insurer, best quote I got. Next closest where Bell and Admirial.
