    The titanic has docked…

@Ant1 - you’ve got me looking at these now! Family car, tow the trailer, comfy work smoker, fast enough, reasonable on fuel and air suspension with a massive boot for aiding track days. This is a game changer!

    Wi-Fi Repeater Router thing?

Do you mean like a wifi extender/booster? I bought a TP link from eBay. I plugged it in to my parents house (next door!) and stole their wifi for 3 years. It was perfect!

Tyres with stiff walls for 15" - Recommations?

So buy some proper tyres. AR1’s, Direzzas, MRF etc. But unless you get good heat in to them, they’ll be pretty crap on the road.

Tyres with stiff walls for 15" - Recommations?

And… there’s a guy on eBay that sells a set of 4 PS3’s, hardly used, for £80-100. bargain!

Tyres with stiff walls for 15" - Recommations?

If it’s a road car, Michelin PS3’s will be all you need. And more. if it’s a track car, you’ll want either AR1’s or MRF’s . I currently use MRF’s and I’m mega mega impressed with them. Done 5 full days on my current set and with lots of careful switching around they’ve lasted really well. I...

    Uniroyal Rainsport 5

I’m on 195/50/15’s and my two track cars are a F4R’d Kangoo van and a Mk1 F4R’d clio. I personally wouldn’t be using Rainsport tyres in the damp, they’ll be useless. They’re a rain tyre.

    Uniroyal Rainsport 5

I’ve used Rainsport 5’s on both of my track cars and zero complaints from me. They’re nowhere near my MRF’s in terms of ability or longevity but Rainsports are £24 fitted each and MRF’s are over £100 each. I think it’s about setting expectations. And for £24 a tyre, i think they’re a fantastic...

    Engine gone bang

sounds like a hole in the block as mentioned above. cheapest way is a Secondhand engine. new belts/clutch/consumables. a good weekends work for a home mechanic or a week at a garage. probably looking at £3k minimum I’d imagine unless you can do it yourself.

    Coilover suggestions

For a road car I’d go B14’s, no question. Too soft for track though, not that that matters to 90% of clio owners.

    New, Fully Electric Renault 5

As cool as it looks, 0-60 in 6+ seconds just won’t cut it for the new car customers. They’ll want a lot more from such a lairy looking thing.

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

I’m not interested in coatings and other gumf. I just want a product that helps me to clean cars quickly and doesn’t leave streaks or smears and allows me to dry a big car with minimal effort. And this stuff rocked it honestly.

    Copart RB 182 Cup

It’s a breaker only. Seeing as it doesn’t seem to have any damage and nobody looks to have died in it, I’d say it’s been flooded.

Bought some Autoglym Autogloss Rinse last week as I was out of Aquawax. I have to say, it’s probably the best drying aid I’ve ever used. Washing and drying a dark coloured 4x4 usually takes ages but this made it an absolute breeze. I’ll definitely not switch back to Autosmart Aquawax.

    Good Evening

Gearbox issues tend to arise from people basically having Zero mechanical sympathy. my 182’d Kangoo has a crunching from 2nd to 3rd but I’ve done about 5 track days in it and I kick it’s head in every day. It NEVER crunches when I drive it. Ever. But as soon as someone else drives it, hey...

    Good Evening

Reliability shouldn’t scare you. The engines in the Clio’s are pretty much bomb proof. Plenty around with over 200k on them. buy one based on condition and service history and not what the Speedo says. Cambelt is a big expensive job and due every 5yrs/72k. Budget 6-700 to have it done at a...
