I had the exact problem with my RSi a metallic grinding noise when your foot is down.. Check your down pipe seal (can be a b**ch to titen correctly) bracket that holds the manifold And the packing on your exhaust hasnt been blown out?

Yes thats prefectly alright... all the exhaust and air filter do is give you a little more power (better breathing for the engine)

Exactly my thoughts! why buy a cat for £100 plus just to smash it up!!? Found a couple of images of a decat, but there all bloodey PH2 ones! which i know are slightly longer/shorter cant remember which one? If i can get the dimensions someone at my fathers work could easily knock one up...

Cheers for the comments guys.. They are acutally a few shades lighter need a good clean down and so does the car! Its just impossible to keep things clean in winter though, spent 3hrs on sunday giving the car a good was and polish went for a 20min drive and its ditched again :(
