Ah, I've seen the OBD tools, mainly on the Fiesta ST's etc but OP had pointed out second time his dads house had been broken in to and they'd made off with the car so assumed they'd grabbed the keys from wherever he normally leaves 'em. It's a bit sh*t that you have to hide your car keys in...
