PCs all the way as far as I'm concerned. Millions of utilities, programs, games, various hardware add-ons, upgrades, integrations, you name it.
Consoles just make me laugh with the hype and the bell-ends that queue-up for 52 hours in order to get their mitts on one. They have their advantages...
Already from this end NEB :)
I've asked a m8 along if we're short of numbers. He'll probably join under the name of 'Soap' or something similar. If we have space on our side, can we let him on?
Cheers,
D.
Commando22 - went on your server earlier on m8 - NEB was on there and (obviously) quite a few other CM guys. I must admit, so far, so good. I actually like the new maps that I've been on. I would have stayed on longer, except I had an unexpected visit from the Windows desktop. :S. Good games...
Yey - it arrived this morning! Not a chance to try it tonight, but definitely be giving it a go tomorrow. Need some last minute practice before total ownership by the CM mob on Sunday evening!

Behind me in the s**t-heap (Jag) with xenons and front fogs on. Would have been Wednesday evening - approaching the turn-off next to the Seven Stars pub, off Junc 2, M66....

Glad someone agrees with me, m8! :approve:
Martyn - I've got both options covered. I've got the patch here, ready to go on its own (or fingers crossed) the Spec Ops CD should have arrived at home this morning. Either way, it will be patched come Sunday.
Why do I get the feeling of impending...
I've got my doubts about all this zip-line and grappling hook stuff. It maybe fun in the short term, but with the medic and engineer kits being exempt - does this mean that they will be confined to the ground while the rest of the classes swing from the scenery like Tarzan?
The medic and...
It is a 1998 game m8 - maybe they've pulled the plug in favour of Quake 4 servers?! ;)
Having said that, we still have a mad hour session on Q3 most Fridays. We even have someone playing on the Mac version of Q3 and that has no issues.

They aren't the best m8 - we use them for forwarding of email at a sister-company of ours. A bit flakey to be honest.
We've signed up a analogue and ADSL lines with a firm called Logicom who have a northern office based in Leyland. They seem ok, but we've only just took them onboard, so time...
Not sure Zorba - I've must have been lucky I guess and tried to logon when it was quieter. At the end of the day, the CM guys pay for that server to be up and running and any CM members will always have precedence over us Joe-Public. I.e., we'll be refused entry if there are a lot of CM guys...
Had a quick bash last night - not on the CM server though.
First chance I had to use the M95 sniper rifle. Nailed one bloke with my first shot  and got a partial kill on the next bloke. Helped captured a base and then the bloody thing crashed to Windows desktop. Bugger!
D.
Steady on! :clown:
It is worth it though. Its a two part process. Once you've 'run it' it creates a desktop batch file that once run, enables 32-player support on all of the single player 16-player maps. It takes a few minutes, but only does it once.
Then you should have another icon...
Clart - they aren't available on a lot of the smaller maps. I think all of the 64-player maps have planes and choppers in them (though I could be wrong) and if you play on single player, you normally find that the bots nab them first before you get the chance.
Flying choppers is quite easy...
I agree Zorba. But what gives the sniper class away the most? The noise of him firing - especially if the target is playing with surround sound on or a decent set of headphones - it's easy to find where they are.
I think the sniper should get a secondary role (and rewarded in due course) as...
Is it just me, but few (if any) RTS games have matched the gameplay of C&C Generals? I know it's riddled with faults and has loads of hacks when played online, but it's a truly fantastic game - especially when used with with Zero Hour exapnsion CD. Maybe developers should be using this as a...
You're right m8 - if you miss with the sniper class and they hear whereabouts you've fired from, you're in hot water.
One thing I found that worked great was having twin snipers. I lay prone, slightly downhill from another sniper above me. We were looking both in the similar direction and it...
