In that case then i'd get a standard (ish) car and mod it as and when you feel the need. Mods are largely irrelevant if you're a crap driver too. A few years ago I had a stripped/caged/4potted 182 and my best mate (proper good driver!) made me look daft in his standard 172 even with the added...
You'll need a decent MDF shelf if you want them in your clio. They weigh a ton and the cardboard shelf of the clio will probably collapse at the first pothole! lol.
I really like 6x9's as they're dead easy to fit/remove compared to a sub/amp combo and offer lots of noise for a relatively...
Unless you're the next Ayrton Senna chasing seconds, mods on a clio track car are not worth stressing about as the standard cars (With decent pads/fluid) are AMAZING on track.
(I'm assuming you're a track day newbie? I may be completely wrong! lol)
Smoothed out front bumper, black windows, no mention of belts/dephaser, no splitter.... Chavs wet dream but hardly a track car.
Why spend £3k on that just to track it??
Sub £2000 will get you a 172 Cup and they're the best base for a track car imo.
You need one of these my good man. (There's loads on ebay, maybe cheaper)

The most expensive part (If you're fussy like I am) is the paintwork. RB is a b**ch match up and you can't just do one panel.
Belts are no big deal now (traders on here are getting cheaper as they compete for business!) exhaust mounts are peanuts and everything else is just basic costs of...
Maybe a previous owner had a fault with the ABS and removed the bulb on the dash to prevent problems at MOT time?
Get a pic of the engine bay.
ABS pumps are square boxes of metal (Nicely machined ali actually) with solid (Green or silver from memory) brake lines coming out of it.
£25???!!! What a fcuking rip off.

I can see no logical reason why someone would choose the petrol over the diesel. The diesels are superior in every way. (If nobody has noticed, I detest the 1.6vvt engine! lol)
Ahh, ok. I didn't realise that.
In that case then, i'd get your engine compression tested, make sure it's a good'un and do the box/belts. Like you say, better the devil you know!
I was stood just before Avon rise when I saw you come out of camp, and you left a LOAD of blue/white smoke behind. To the point other drivers started steering around it!
What was the cause of that? If that came from your engine, is it really worth spending money on the gearbox/belts...
1.6 mk3 clio's are dreadful. Absolutely no torque and the most horrid gearbox known to man.
You looked at a Twingo RS? I'd much rather have one of them than a non RS Clio.
