Maybe a numpty question this, but thats not actually the sump plug is it?
I thought most cars had like a 10mm-12mm hexagonal bolt that unscrewed directly from the sump. Is this whats behind the the plastic screw-cap as pictured?

What irritates me the most is the mis-conseption of the Mini being on some ivory tower of greatness. Its not. I know of four people (including my wife) with different specs of Minis. All but one has had serious problems with it - one so bad that he just wants rid of it..... period.
My 182...
clean16v - Ive got to totally disagree with you on nearly all points m8!
The wifes Cooper S build quality is absolute crap. Its been taken back to Mini more times in two years than my Fiat Punto did in six. On top of that, BMWs attitude at the dealerships towards Mini owners is embarrassing -...
covkid - the showroom guy should have got off his fat ass and found the job sheet for what was done to your car.
Honestly, some garages take the piss.
I was offered a brew, slice of cake and the Sky remote when I went to pick up a pair of wipers blades for the missuss (then) MR2. Their...
Christ, I miss my turbo in tunnels/fly-overs....
"pppppaaaaarrrrrppppppp.......tschhhhhhhh........pop...pop" ;)
Err, back to topic. Sorry, no - it wasnt me!

Ive got a 182 and the wife has her Cooper S. She hates hers though! Definitely no rivalry in our house and Ive yet to personally see any on the road.
She likes the VX220 as a possible replacement, but Id love her to get a V6 Clio. Not that Id argue her getting the VX220 either!

Yup - me too - noticeably worse when idling from cold though. It had its first splutter-judder-Im almost stalling, session the other day too.
Bloody thing hasnt even done 5,000 miles yet....
Anyone else have the sensation that the clutch feels like its slipping at times? Again, it...
And of course, theres the dodgy 182 flash unit to think about. I usually wave as the crap full-beam can be left on, blinding all and sundry for the next half a mile. ;)
Of all the RS Clios Ive seen - Ive yet to see a CS sticker in one though......

I get a look more response from the older models of Clios - the valvers, Willys, etc.
Having said that, a 182 (without Cuppy bits) went straight past me this morning and I ignored him. My mistake - I didnt think it was a 182 initially, until it was too late...

I heard that in Greece, your insurance purely went off engine size - rather than mods done to the engine. So a 1.6 16v turbocharged engine car kicking out circa 200bhp would be cheaper than a standard 1.8 16v car.
Not sure how true it is, but thats what Ive heard!

hey you guys *blushes* i already love it here!
*ahem* and i am newly single too by the way!
My god...... does she realise what she has just done? :o :D Expect a torrent of PMs come flooding your way now from all the blokes....

Chewy - does yours have a bodykit on it and stuff? Were you at Tescos last week at the lights? I pulled up alongside a green Clio (not sure if it was an RT tho) and the two people in it looked across?
D.
Had exactly the same nicked of my GTt - they marked the paint on the first attempt. Replaced it and that too, was nicked a couple of months later. Had some work done on the car and the bodyshop thought they were doing me a favour by fitting another GT badge on the rear and not charging me for...
I was heading from Ashton-side, at the major set of lights on Ashton Moss, heading towards Crowhill. You were at the lights, coming up from the town centre/Sainsburys direction. I was about to let onto you when another bloody Clio pulled up alongside you and blocked my view! :)
Anyone on here...
