As headunits these days and cars are both fitted with ISO connectors it is just plug and play, un plug the old and plug in the new. If you want the stalk and displays in the car to work, you will need to get extra wiring harneses and interfaces though.
Straight head unit swap is a 5 min job.
I'd get the newest car you can stretch to. If your planning mods the 172 makes sense I guess. But those on here that have owned both full fat 172 and 182s have said the 182 is a better car to drive - something to think about if it's staying stock.
No need mate. Remove the stereo, push the two circuit boards away behind the dash, and the dock cable for the ipod can either feed through next to the glovebox light or the hole for the glovebox catch.
Five min job, without taking part or removing anything apart from the stereo.
I just use Autoglym Super Resin and Extra Gloss on mine has I have loads.
Most man made sealants work well as they hold up better to the higher temps than normal carnuaba waxes.

I was hoping that the pics of the corsa would pop up to show the power of the Klasse AIO (and the Brazo!).
If it looks like the Corsa Pat, it is unlaquered - so a botttle of Klasse should see you okay. By hand get ready for a good work out hough.
Is the finish got laquer on it? When you say dull do you mean faded/oxidised and flat looking without any shine?
If it is unlaquered Klasse AIO is a great product, strips through oxidisation easily even by hand.
Good guide for other aspects...
Re: Coats of wax, polosh
Normally 1 coat of polish or glaze. 2 coats of sealant to ensure total coverage, and then a coat of Carnuba wax to improve looks.
I guess time will tell what the next batch of hatches in the Clios size will bring the Corsa VXR and 207 GTi. Also remains to be seen what the mk3 Renault Sport is priced at.
Fully agree with the first 2! Money is burning a whole in my pocket nearly brought a G4 powerbook yesterday, but left the shop knowing it would be a silly thing to do days before the Macbook hits the shop. (ETA in store 10-22nd Feb).
Not to fussed about 3, but could be handy for upadted my...
No plans to chop mine in. The new one would have to be something special to drive to make me want to change. Even when the new model does come out plenty of 172/182 owners will still be fans.
