yes, i told them what had been done etc etc
the engine isn't the factory original (1.2 16V to 172 cup) but thats ok, the airbags went in the bin years ago but thats ok, but MOT man says no just beacuse the abs doesn't work!
there's only 3 places i know that sell it
Rentech
us (and we can post it)
or total butler uk (but you have to buy 24L of it from them!)
but if thats too much hassle, pop down halfords or a local motorfactor
it might be worth checking the wires from the sensor to the main ecu connector (incase water has got down them and corroded the wire, i've seen that a few times on omex looms) use a multimeter to check their resistance
yeah its nowt fancy, call omex to confirm, but i think its just a normal serial cable (software is downloadable from omex website http://www.omextechnology.co.uk/)
its also possible your ecu has been password protected/locked, so you might want to call the people who built the car
right then, Mr MOT man is bieng a pain
i don't have the original 1.2 16V ABS wiring connected (needs to be spliced into the 2.0 loom) and he's failed the car beacuse "ABS light does not illuminate"
he's saying VOSA say if ABS is factory fitted it must be working
brakes are fine, they...
if you do get a new sensor i would suggest recalibrating it (its the sensor on the thermostat housing, on the side of the clyinder head)
its something work checking fella, might not be
is you OMEX mounted inside the engine bay?
the omex ecu uses the omex CTS (which as i said should be on the engine side of the thermostat, so it can adjust the fueling as the car warms up from cold)
the sensors have to be calibrated
this is done in the ecu settings, you first take an ambient air temp reading and enter this into the...
philthy's car should have 2 coolant sensors, the omex one SHOULD be before the thermostat (engine side), and the renault one can go anywhere in the cooling system
