Back on topic... Is there a cheaper way to make the V8's sound like thunder? I don't like the thought of spending £5k on a car and then over a fifth of that on decats and an exhaust. Are there any secrets??

No, the windows are much bigger on a 3 door. Tbh, Unless you know what you're doing, i'd never advise doing window tints yourself. It WILL look s**t.
