Putting my 172 cup back on the road...

they are very lumpy on idle from factory but as you have had the car from new presume this is different from the 'normal' lumpiness for you to flag it mine was a two pronged issue really, an injector went down simultaneously so cured big misfire by swapping injector then HT lead swap fixed it fully

if it makes you feel any more confident, my daily 182 is on 217k miles, used every day, does a couple of trackdays a year and is on original engine and gearbox. i just maintain it by the book and apart from a niggle now and again (most recently brand new spark plug leads breaking down and...

Putting my 172 cup back on the road...

Mileage isn't an issue, there's cars on one 300k about with no problems and as they're cheap too repair bar major rust issues it's always viable imo

    Auto lock after unlock

Door switches are at rear of door shuts and boot one is part of the locking mechanism in the boot lid itself, I replaced mine with good low mileage ones from a breakers local to me and saw them working in the car before they were removed and sold to me

    Auto lock after unlock

you have 3 sensors, 1 on each door and one on the boot. if interior light comes on when you open either door, then door switches are okay. if boot light comes on when you open boot lid then boot switch is okay that is a fully working system and behaviour will be, unlock car with plip but don't...

    Auto lock after unlock

if however the lights are working then its a completely different cause of the issue and one I haven't heard of, possibly a faulty UCH module as they can cause all kinds of odd behaviour if they break down internally
  16. Coops Mk1

    Auto lock after unlock

no it will still auto lock but only if you unlock it and then don't open anything, as such no issues then as you won't be able to leave your keys in it

Full race slicks for track days

yeah full set, its a myth that Clio's can't get heat into the rears, if you can't you haven't pushed on enough or there's something seriously wrong with your geo and just treat them with respect, I find once warm they let go no differently to a semi provided your on the ball and feel the grip...

    Auto lock after unlock

no need to disable it, provided the door and boot switches are working then it'll be fine. so as above, check interior lihgth and boot light come on as they should with passenger door and boot lid opening. if not switches bust on both, so replace and fixed
