    Clio 1.8 16V Winter Project

Yeah it's got front jacking point issues too and needs sills ideally. It was boosted but I got into trackdays and bought another one for that so grey one was decommissioned and has sat ever since Looks like this at mo

    Clio 1.8 16V Winter Project

Glad to see the work going into this chap, should be lovely when done. Need to sort my old grey one out at some point but the fear of the rust has stopped me thus far

Howdy - new person, familiar car

Look tidy, be shame to do anything other than keep it stock imo

    Slicks - where/brand etc?

Only tyre that's actively tried to kill me on the limit is the pilot sport offerings from Michelin, never again, evil evil semi slick crap that

    Slicks - where/brand etc?

Been sideways past the limit of grip plenty of times old bean, never felt the fabled 'snap' seems a bit like the bullshit 5k cam kick, not forthcoming ;-)

    Slicks - where/brand etc?

Never had that issue, always found them less snappy than the semi slick crap tbh

Mark 1 Track Car - Trophy Red 172 Project

Small update Due to my ongoing spending issues I acquired a set of pms lower arms with the spherical bearings and strengthening plates for a bargain so couldn't say no. No fitted pics but bit of struggle on the offside so had to 'adjust' it to fit but after a bit of loving persuasion they're...

    mk1 engine conversion

Just seen this too All depends what you want from the car. Keeping stock interior you can decode the original ecu and relatively easily splice the 172 engine loom to the mk1 interior loom. My conversion is more straightforward, as it's a track car I simply transplanted everything from the mk2...

    fuel rail

I don't have a spare setup unfortunately, however as a fellow mk1 owner and mk1 F4R owner intrigued to see details of the car etc, do you have a project thread or similar?

    Slicks - where/brand etc?

I've used the pre loved Michelin and Dunlop variants from the eBay ex race series suppliers for years, and even completely ruined they offer up so much more grip than anything else. For the price too it's a no brainer. Currently I'm on r888r's but they're s**t tbh compared but only running...

    172 Sump Baffle

You mean Gerrards at Mallory? That's supposedly the engine killer although done it several times on full slicks and I'm not exactly a wheelman but there was some sustained lateral g and engines not gone bang. Was same on my old f7 turbo motor, no issues!

The Odyssey (Phase 1 172) - By Coops

Lol, just realised after reading the thread back, fitted 10mm hub spacers to the car last year and totally forgot..... so that's 26mm rear spacing, thought it looked a bit wide, flol!!

The Odyssey (Phase 1 172) - By Coops

I'm considering full original, so no spacers, original springs, pattern mild steel exhaust, remove colour coded strips and return orange to side repeaters and front indicators. And back to original spoiler..... But not yet! No rubbing issues as yet, but literally just driven it off drive and...

For the record the wheels look really dull for some reason in the pics, think due to overcast day, they're wonderful in person!

Mark 1 Track Car - Trophy Red 172 Project

Well back enough into one piece now, outstanding are to try to bleed the brakes again and needs new rear discs, probably a bit more of a fettle with the exhaust but save for that she's back up and running! To then be consigned to the back of the drive for winter! Lol!! Fail! Couple of last...
