I don't actually trust any insurance company in the event they actually have to pay out, I reckon they will do literally anything to not
as such I will always go with the cheapest on the basis that they will try to f**k me so why pay more
for comparison, when I fit the summer wheels which are ET37 Williams wheels (15" and 195/50 section tyres) it does scrub a bit, not badly, but a bit. and the ET37 to 43 difference is....... 6mm ;)
I have just turned 30 this year, which I think has helped on the other cars and the 182 has come down by 50 quid this time around
and tbh I haven't really checked other cars either, having mostly insured Clio's over the past 10 years.
its just interesting to look and I was quite surprised!
stupid cliosports
and Dave, that's proper man maths that is, save 100 on the insurance and loose 4k on the servicing and upkeep (enough to buy and throw away two 182's ;) )
I'm guessing its due to loads being stolen or written off but been playing with quotes today and all sorts I wouldn't of expected is cheaper to insure (just going off the back of what others on this forum own)
quick taster, done a few more but these are two that stuck out!
Clio 182 with mods -...
essentially yes, but the likely hood of it actually going pop is pretty slim, i'd perdsonally just drop and check the oil and replace with new again to the correct level
put it this way, the 172 box in my mk1 turbo (290bhp, 270lb/ft) was whining the day it went in, 10k ago and 6 track days plus...
lovely lovely car and so glad you're all back in love with it. would of been a crying shame if you'd felt funny after the incident and lost the feel for it :)
if the crank pulleys worked loose hopefully its just dropped the timing and the cranks spinning and the belt isn't so engine with any luck will be okay
however, I would agree with the above and give Mick at Diamond a call and get towed to him
disagree, they worked fine for a year, just recently given up and I really miss them, when they worked they only had the occasional spazzy moment where they went onto 'furious w**k', usually when the rain stopped!lol!
I've had all sorts over the years, but currently on:
182 - 15" Williams wheels
MK1 - 15" Superlegs
