Dont let them say its abuse since its whatver colour since a slipping clutch will be that colour.
Just keep saying why when they want you to pay. Give Renault Uk a call to see there views and use that when you go to the dealership.
They will try it on saying youve damaged the cluctch and say the colour etc shows its wear and tear etc.
But the 172 clutch isnt that good the change in colour can be down to it slipping so they cannot use that excuse.
Im sure Renault will cover it under warently they know its a week spot...
The aux belt doesnt run the cams.
The AUX belt just runs the starrter, aircon, alternator, and the power stearing pump etc.
The spec for changing the AUX belt was apparently changed from 72k to 36k but few places know there is a change.
There arnt any modified one probably just different design to help limit the problems the 1.2 has.
The 1.2 seem to go thought spark plugs a bit quicker than the servicing indicates.
I wish Id stayed out a few more laps as I was just behind Pete Savill when I came in to the pits to get the camera removed although they told me I could do a few more laps.
Depends what you want to drive the 182 is a more hard core driving car IMO the GTi isnt a bad car at all but is more a family car suitable for the longer drives.
I tried. Im about 100hp and a lot of skill short of you lot.
Anway anyone know why the MX-5 and that MGF were so slow? I couldnt belive they had to pull over for me and I didnt see them again once Id overtaken them.
A Very very low diesel is the way to go.
Cheap as chips.
Was a good laught though.
I think the owners of Oulton park might be comming round to collect the acre of grass I picked up when I was there. Its all over the drive at the moment.
The idea of buying a cheap 16V or Williams etc for...
The NSX is the better car in my view if I had the coice Id get the V6 if I needed a 3 yr warently the NSX if I did little milage there so much more different.
When I got a test drive the bloke drove the car for a few minutes till the petrol station filled up with a £5 then let me drive it for a few minutes was abit of a joke realy as I got stuck behind a slow car and the road was dead straight with a roundabout at the end to turn round and come back...
So you cannot rev the engine since its crank is weaker? I assume if you use lightweight pistons you could up the safe operating rpm? Since forces will be less?
Would sticking the 1.8 crank into a 2.0 allow you to use higher RPM? Ok youd loose some capacity but would the higher possible rpm...
Diffiuclt to say for definate but Id say youd need the 1.2 16V aircon software loading onto the ecu at Renault.
Also Roamers condensor ie radiator at the front is different than the 1.2 etc is so you might have a challenge fitting it.
The extra volume for the F7R engine came form using a 1.9 diesel crank and bigger pisons.
The problem with the 2.0 taking the rpm is down to the heavier pistons I believe.
They will probably demand an alarm but maybe not.
Id get one fitted regardless though personally.
Worth a try saying you can only get insured with an alarm so youd like to get some money off to pay for it.
Its the aux belt tensioner probably, its a comon problem this time of year might be the reason the last owner sold it as they didnt know what it was.
Get it to the place which sold it to you and explain your not happy but belive its this aux belt tensioner its a few hours work (Ill send you...
Say you do 500 miles a week and your doign 50mpg now then a petrol will/should do about 35mpg so that an extra £16 a week your pouring in the tank.
Forget adding a turbo to your enigne, the TD is a completly different engine it has new pistons, lower compression ratio, its different in so many...
Straight line performance is the one thing youll get bored with very quickly. Always IMO go for something which you like the handling of.
My money would be on the 172 but the VAGs have the advanatge that there common so prices are less to tune/fix.
I cannot spell, only just checked and Id spelt it worng and that was after a few attempts.
I dont care what people say about Porsche or Audi TTs (convertbale Ts and V6 excepted) I want one I dont care how fast they are what the handle like or who sees me in one I think there gorgeous. Id swop...
Yep you can do, but unless you have a damaged same spec car with climate to swop all the parts with for cheap and like a challenge dont bother. Youd be able to buy a dynamic with aircon for les than most of the parts alone would cost from Renault ie a new console bit is £250.
Its to much...
