Evening all. :)
Right, My car is going away on monday to have all the 172 stuff fitted.
I have a COMPLETE phase-1 172 as a doner car and my mechanic is doing the work with some (limited) help from me.
Am I right in saying that the subframe/gearbox/loom/ECU/brakes/driveshafts etc etc is...
I use Brick acid on mine. Only once mind and they will come up like new with a good soak and a scrub with a toothbrush.
If you keep using it, it will eventually eat away all the laquer.
Red is rare as rocking horse poo and commands a premium.
My silver one just looked like a 318 I hated that about it.
Personally speaking though, i'd buy a car on mechanical condition rather than colour or options.
You got to remember, this is an old supercar we're talking about. You'll...
100% Accurate mate.
I am in no way shape or form a 'good' driver. Therefore I have more fun in my little Clio screwing the nuts off it with its predictable handling than I had in my stupidly overpowered rwd M3 that wanted to just go round and round and round.
I think we all know the score now don't we?
£2500 for a tidy car with FSH inc all belts is a good price.
Knock £5/600 off if it needs servicing and belts.
Typical rich Asian boy rubbish imo.
Money cannot buy you taste.
My mate (asian, obviously) is loaded. Proper rich, and he bought a brand new Evo 7 when they came out and spent £4k having it painted kawasaki green and put 18 inch chrome wheels on it.
Thankfully its written off now, but...
Mine never had the wood interior (apart from the handbrake) stupid germans.
Make sure the Vanos is quiet, the ABS light isn't on, and the brakes and tyres are good. Also a FBMWSH is a must (or specialist).
If you tick all the boxes, you'll be fine! :) Getting quite excited for you...
