How much bhp is needed to run the power steering?

So here's a question, does power steering increase your emissions?

Learner driver with red 'L' plates in a....

Excellent, I wonder if it was his car. If not, he will have learned to feather the throttle around town and on passing his test he'll jump into his own 1.0 fiesta and won't understand why he has to plant his foot through the carpet to get the same response. haha

My RS turbo's old and new

I love the sierra, I've always preferd this shape over the saphires.

Is it worth converting to a 1.6?????

No, I've got a 1.6 and I would advise you that to do the upgrade is a waste of your cash. You're only young, just keep saving for what you want and get that in a couple of years, you may have changed your mind by then, but at least you'll still have your money.

    Refurb Magic

Haha! you have to hand it to the enterprising chap. Don't be tight like me, pay your £5, make a proper advert and you'll be sorting scuffed turini's, the CS celebrity circular, by the end of the month.

    The Car Un-Apreciation thread.

Absolutely, the Korean's should stick to what they know best ie making plastic dinosaurs to go in christmas crackers etc. Accept for the hyundi coupe. That wasnt so bad, shame it was fwd. Any pov spec mustang made between 1974 (mustang II) to 2004. None of them have enough style to carry off...

    Whats my V6 work now?

Well, I was looking at them for a while (when I thought I could get one with a cambelt done for £8k which is all I can afford) most of the decent ones which were hpi clear seemed to be around £9-12k with similar or higher miles, however you've had the cambelt, pump and pullies done, (I'm sure...

I use stardrops, a little goes a long way and you can 'spot' it neat on the tougher areas.

    im going to pay £4700

Not quick enough for what? What are you planning on doing with it, track days? Good you luck if that's the car you want. I wish I had £4.7k to spend on something like insurance but just remember if you are in your dad's name the car is for 'borrowing' to go to the shops and 'occasional'...

    im going to pay £4700

£6500 on a clio 182 £4700 on daddies insurance and a fast approching tree. Claims handler telling him his insurance is void. £Priceless.

    im going to pay £4700

£4700 on just the insurance! Where do you kids get the money from these days, unless of course you deal crack as well as smoke it.

Yep and the trick is to manufacture those parts to break as often as possible. :)

    Cunning plan - result!

Opposite for mine. I bought the clio after an mx5 because I didnt want a drop in power. My gf loved it and drove it back and forth to work for a year clocking up 18k untill I bought her a Ford Ka 1.3. At first she wasnt keen on the reduced power of the Ka but now thinks paying more on...

    My new GTi

That's a lot of work for a Friday, you must have been keen to get cracking on with it. Do you find the Concours mutes the metallic a bit, or is it the lack of strong sunlight? It's a great colour but when I first saw the pics I didnt realise it was metallic, the pug paint looks like the...

Elises first race - Pic Whorage

Fair play. If I'd forked out for a nice car like that I'd have to dig deep to find the courage to put it out on a track. Looks like you had a great weekend though and it is an awsome looking machine.

    Marty McFly Spotted...

Man I'd love a delorean. There is a company in America that has pressing equiptment for new panels and will basicly build you one for a hefty sum. They'll even turbocharge it for you seeing as the origional engine was as flat as a witches tit. Or you can buy one of the origional ones...

Rear brake pad change complete... but beware of main dealer!

If the guide says use one oil and the dealers are putting something else into the engine it's like this; the guide is wrong or the dealers are. Either way by ignoring the guide and putting in a different grade oil suggests to me it's more about wacking in what ever they have.. £10 more for...

Great wet shine. Looks to be in fanstatic condition, what products did you use? Like Dan said it's done well to have survived parking dent free.

What is happening to 182 prices?

Just read the advert, it does look like a tidy car. You say it needs a service soon, either dont mention this, get it done or reduce your price slightly, maybe to £7200 (just read you have)? It's not a huge loss, I was thinking of trading my car in (worth £2000 offered £1700).

What is happening to 182 prices?

Did anyone come over to take a look at the car though? If they didn't I'd suggest they are chancers looking to get a bargain and not proper buyers. I would never buy a car without looking at it. imvho Ebay is not a good guide to what anything is worth these days people bid silly amounts for...

    My new GTi

I like it rich. Will be good to see the photo's when you've worked your magic on it. I know what you mean about the tax banding versus vehicle age. Finding the right car is a pain. Anthracite speedlines would go nice with that colour.

    getting a capri!

They sure are. Two areas I'd suggest you definitely check batman, because we spent a lot of time and money buying and welding new panels are: Front suspension top mounts. lot's of capri's have repair plates here. Door hinge panel on A pillar. The first sign is the doors drop and it...

Unsecured Wifi ? would you ?

If I switch my router on then open my laptop too quickly it just logs onto the most available network and not mine. I wondered why the ariel strength was low and when I checked the airport settings noticed I had spent the evening logged onto a neighbors unsecured network so to rejoin mine had...

Try owning an MX5, you have plenty of practice making come backs with the all the numpty hairdresser comments that get fired at you.

Excellent work. It's fair to say you have virtually doubled the value of that car. Those seat stains were grim.
