Rear arches should cost around £200 to sort both of them.
Cut out old rot, weld in new plates, and respray.
PM 'midge' off here. His mate did his for 200 sheets and did a top job.
Tyres are the only contact you have with the road. At all.
I'm fucked if i'll put 'Nexens' on my car and blame the handling.
Get some decent rubber and it will transform it. Renault don't spend millions of pounds developing a car to be run on 99p budget tyres.
All imo of course ;)
Clio forum??
I took my old 306 to a place called Citrotec. They supplied and fitted front lowering springs and adjusted the rear torsion bar to suit.
All for the princley sum of £210.
Its not under Renault Warranty, its under a warranty that was supplied with the car by a private garage.
There lies the problem.
Why the f**k do Renault care?? Its out of their warranty.
(sorry Andy, just saying it like it is! ;))
The product itself is a very good product. I once sold a new laguna to someone for £18k, and a GAP policy for £299. 2 years later when it was written off by a drunk driver, GAP stumped up £5500 shortfall between his cash price and insurance valuation. So was he ripped off when he paid the £299...
Brick acid from B&Q. Only use it once though, its proper strong.
Today i cleaned a car with 60,000 miles of brake dust and it pissed it right off. (lady owner, never EVER cleaned it from new)
Make sure you polish the metal afterwards though.
I use a garage called DK cars and bikes. Tap it in yell.com and you will get his number, i only have his mobile. I have used him for full resprays, badges and/or accident damage. Good painter and very good prices. Tell him (Dave Kift is his name) that Dan sent you. ;)
He has a paintshop in...
The bloke who i bought my house off owns a driving school, and his car is a black 197. His Mrs drives it a lot around downend/mangotsfield/bradley stoke etc.
Dark haired lass, looks quite young.
LOL! rocker cover bolt missing....
Sorted for the second race though. Was the first time i've been to a day like that (well, in the last 10 years) but was such a good day, i'm going to try and make them all this season. Thoroughly enjoyed it. :)
