Tbh they aren't fast at all, unless looked after they are not reliable. I agree with Daniel - for every one good one, you'll five heaps. I sold mine years ago & tbh even back then it was very hard to get a good one.

Tbh for that money, you won't really find a decent one, you might do if you look hard enough though. Most are very old now (last of the line was '96) and lots suffer from rusty arches & sills (plus other bits) What i'm saying is, you'll see more rubbish ones than you will good ones.
Don't worry about the group too much, some lower grouped cars cost more to insure with some companies then higher ones with others.

Yeah they aren't quick now, my old one was as it was on 90 odd thousand & the engine was knackered. I blew the engine up, got one on 60k fitted & it was tight as, the car was so slow, so I sold it on.
They are group 12, for a 'better one' you'll need about two grand. Also look out for 'hybrid'...
