When a car backfires, especially on heavy acceleration, the main reason is that too much fuel is being pumped in (too rich). Running a car too rich causes carbon build up in the cylinders which also causes backfires. the carbon deposits heat up and cause the fuel to preignite before the intake...

i got one mate, it cost 159 quid but its the dogs. Soft lined so it wont scratch your paintwork and elasticated round the all corners plus it has vent holes in to stop condensation/sweating. pete

Had a fiesta1.1LX as my first, then got an RT(which ive still got) and finally got myself a mint naples red valver with leather. Would love to have; Sierra RS500 cossie, 2000 Steeda Mustang SVT cobra R, 69 camero....something V8 and american for definate but im only 19 so a few years yet. pete

yep theyll go straight on mate and there 15inch with 185/55 standard tyres on. I had them on my RT but then sold them to BRUN who incidentally has got them looking brand spanking on his RT. Look on the for sale section mate, usually some going on there. pete

ive got a standard valver airbox in my garage from when i bought my valver, had first look at it today and noticed that the filter is made from green fluffy/spongey type material. Just wondered i suppose i was expecting to see one of those standard orange framed filters, cheers,pete
