Chuckie, perhaps your car is fed up with the name Johnny!
Why not have a competition to find it a new name! I will start with the suggestion of "Hector" which might make your car sound more powerful!
Phil, I think that you will find that the rolling radius is negligible between these different sizes of wheels. When I changed from 16" - 17" the tyre profile changed too, and I went from 195/45/16 to 205/40/17 and the guy who fits wheels all day every day, said that the difference in the...
Hi Ben. I have just washed and leathered off my car and took particular notice of the space between the tyres and the arches, and I noticed that there is a bigger gap at the front. I dont want my tyres rubbing so it could do with just a slight drop, but what about the warranty, if I should...
Ben, I think the springs John has will lower the car 25 & 30 or 35 & 40, cant remember which! Why would the front have to be lowered differently to the back?
I gave a lift to one of the mechanics at my local garage today, and he couldnt believe how high the seats are in my car! Can anything...
Ben, talking about lowering, I am wondering whether or not to lower mine, but I dont want any rubbing and I am not messing about with the arches.
The last time I spoke to my pal John at DT he said that he had a set of Eibach lowering springs waiting for me!!
Your advice is welcome please...
I suggest that you tell your wheel supplier that the wheels are for a Clio then you will get some with FOUR nuts! As far as I am aware, the 16" ones will fit OK, as I recently put 17" wheels on my 172 to replace my 16s with no problems.
Mat, I have a special price from John for your part and it will be £1320.00+VAT so the total is £1551.00 (VAT=£231) If you want it, either phone him direct on 01978 663 057 or e-mail him at johnh@demon-tweeks.co.uk and tell him it is the engine management kit that Sylvia asked about. OK?
I knew you would find out that John is a fab guy, when he is not busy, he will chat to you for ages, especially if you like the World Superbikes and I think he has something in common with you Ben, he is rebuilding an old Escort! He often goes to Motorsport shows/exhibitions so you might meet up...
Now you can see why Pugs are so popular, it is so easy to get mods for them. Peugeot Ecosse are not far from me, are brilliant at what they do and are very friendly, helpful folk, especially Diane.
Maybe they should start Clio Ecosse and make lights, spoilers etc for the Clio!
Douglass mate did the work for him because he owed him money, so maybe had he had it done in a factory, it would have cost more. Douglas has a workshop and does all sorts of car/bike stuff himself too, so I will have to speak very nicely to him!
