I had one of them, I rated it quite highly, mine was a 10" too it did used to thump. No space for one now though, gutted.

The OE alarms are cat1 anyway (if the cars not an import) I think that all cat1 alarms are silent when you set them. The alarms that make noise aren't cat1 status. If your really worried about them wondering if you have an aftermarket alarm just get toad stickers etc from ebay.

I've never seen trendlines in a mk1, I looked a while ago at aftermarket seats & the like but found it hard to get a good match for the grey/blue ph-guff interior.
