I have done 58 around Brands in my road car, bog standard. 56-57's in the race car. Doesn't sound much difference, but in a race that's the difference from say, 6th on the grid to 16th. Spend what you like, but I wouldn't bother at all, just make sure everything is fresh or new and well looked...

Take it to Renault Sport track day, let an instructor drive it, then when he say's wtf is up with this, get it sorted that way. I would have driven it into Renault by now and just kept screaming, until I got arrested.
