I would too actually. It may not snap for years. I know of a ph1 172 on 120K thats still on its origional cambelt so you could get away with it for years, or it could be hours.
Either way its a win win situation because you can't lose money on it.
So that would be around £5.5K for an RS Twingo, I wouldn't pay that for a Veyron. I don't know how you manage to pay so much for insurance Jason.
The GT must make sence to people though because I've seen a fair few on the road. Not my cup of tea personally but they are a nice car. They sound...
Its a great gearknob on the ph1. Really nice to use.
My problem with mine though was if it was -5 outside, the knob was about -10. I had to wear gloves in winter for the first 10 mins of driving.
Belts can be done for around £430. Brakes all around if you do them yourself are about £200 for decent ones. Shocks are £50 each iirc again no labour if you do them yourself.
Looking at around £750ish DIY or about £900 from a garage i'd say. The main cost there is the cambelt really. If its...
I wouldn't bother on a 182. Its only a £5K car, they arn't stolen very often anyway. A Vee, Evo, Scooby, Ferrari.... Yes but wouldn't think it was worth it on a 182.
I was working too. Shame I couldn't make it. Albeit I will be parking around the corner at every meet I come to in the next few months so nobody can see what i'm driving lol :dapprove:
Nope ph1's are the best 1*2. Fact.
The trophy may drive better but the ph1's are the best looking. The lightest whilst still keeping AC, ABS etc even then they're only 14KG's more than a Cup.
I'm biased as i'm a ph1 fan boy but still.
Probably will to be honest. My head says no, however I probably will end up with another. The problem is I wouldn't want another ph1 as they're just getting older and older so will end up money pits, but can anything compare to a ph1 172 in terms of character etc.
The horrific fuel consumption...
ph-ugly?
They're the best looking 1*2 by far. That is unless you like your RS Clio looking like a Clio Dynamique.
They have a lot more road precence than ph2 models imo. Proper aggressive old school hot hatch looks.
