By the way,I wouldn't put them on my road car,but the race car we need to be as wide as possible.
And no I'm not going to write a essay on the reasons for and against, but the car has been set up as it is and that's it.
Have you got a tyre temp gauge?
A mini is lighter than a Clio and so much more to think about.
Stick with 888's or similar, slicks are a world away from anything else, and need more than just chucking them on and off you go.
You could try EBC yellows, we race on these and they only just start to give up towards the end
(40 mins) so you should be fine over that short distance.
Good from cold and cost about £40-50.
Don't do this,if it comes off it will all fall on the floor!!
Just bolt the spacer in loosely, then do as I said in previous post.
If you are using a trolley jack, even better, just drop it from as high as possible, this will give it a head start.
FFS,put the bolts back in but leave them a little loose, put the wheel back on,drop it to the floor and wiggle the steering wheel or drive it a couple of feet and brake, that will free it.

888's
I have no experience of any of these budget tyres,V8,V12,Parada 1,2,3's or whatever they are called.
By the way, 888's are good in the wet if the pressure's are reduced and suspension softened.
But saying all that, you're not after times and out for fun,so...
Just be careful, when I did ours I thought I was doing well, until I got out to have a cup of tea, oops, I'd been scraping too hard and marked the roof.
And yes it does weigh a lot,I put it all in a bucket and my missus could hardly lift it.
