Its a ph1 which has the twin cat (some late ones have the single cat). You just need to get the ph1 system as its a different length than the ph2 system because of the cat difference.

As much as i'd like a 182, it would be stretching the budget. I realy like the ph1's and its a bit of a project/learning curve too so thats all part of the decision.

I know a lad who has gone from 5th to 2nd at 80 in a 1.2 16v. It went past the limiter, dash lit up like an xmas tree. He stoped turned the car off and then on again, its still running fine 2 years on. Got lucky I guess.

Ring adrain flux for insurance on a 172. You may be pleasently suprised. I was.

Looks great. You learn from your mistakes so just enjoy the car now, no point in dwelling on the past. Its certainly come a long way.

Looks like i'll have to start making the longer trips then. I'm not overly fussed about it, it just seems unlucky that the best cars are furthest away from you. If you live in the south west there seems to be loads of good ph1's.

As above realy, went down to a garage in manchester. The car was a Y plate, Iceburg Silver, 72K and FSH. Advertised at £2900 sounds good...... I get there and it has: Cracked fog Nakered paint on the OS door and front bumper NS skirt coming off FSH has no evidence of belt change Power...

I wouldn't touch one that had never had a belt change. Even if you had the intention of getting them done straight away they could even snap on the way to the garage. Lack of servicing does no car any good, but a car like a 172 which are usually driven hard need good regular services to keep...

Here's my car the day after I got it: Its exactly as it is today too, and how it will remain untill the end of the month when it is sold.

I'm not having a go at him mate just saying that is the problem, maybe other people seeing that post will stop the same thing happening to them.
