A dude on here has the renault sat nav for sale (carminat unit) his is complete- he wants £600 ovno for it, so that would be a guide for you - I believe renault charged about £1500 or so for it new !
I've got one for my vee,
It's from a company called specialized, they advertise in the back of evo mag, it cost around £200.00 iirc. It fits the car perfectly (I know it's for a vee - but you get the idea)
Pic of it
It was included with the sale when I bought it:)
(before anyone comments...
I've got osram diadems all round now, they're pretty cool, I got them from a dude on ebay.
If your thinking of getting silvatecs (they are more silver than the philips silver vision bulbs) watch what you get sent from the net as I got stung on two sets (I got sent some snidey crap)
Tbh your probably best off checking auto trader & piston heads every day, probably even three times a day !
Once the car turns up which you think you might want you'll have to act on it straight away (to save someone else buying it before you get there)
I'm 26 :dapprove: & i've always had a huge love for the mk1 escort that one looks espeacially nice, I like the red/gold one thats been in fast ford too, that ones got the same arches on it etc.
Good luck with your search Brooky, it's a mission to find a mint example though (I found it really hard to get one)
It took me two months to find mine, well worth it though as it's blue & a minter :approve:
I agree with Freebone tbh.
Valvers do need to be looked after (remember they are getting on now) but it won't go wrong every time you drive it ! You just need to find a decent one.
Is it standard looking ?? does he just want a normal metallic red paint job, or a funky standard colour ? (i'm still trying to think, not having much success)
The arches rust from the inside outwards, not the other way round, you'd need to cut it out as Chris said.
If you rub it down, treat it, then fill it it will come back in a few years time.
See the one Steve (S22 JGS) has in his car, he's got a small sparco one & it's the nuts :approve:
If my steering wheel was knackered, i'd get the one he has without hesitation.
