At that price point it’s a lottery, personally from the sounds of it all your car actually needs is a driveshaft so I’d get it done and stick with it.
The Mk3 is arguably the better car but an early 1.5 diesel at £600 could just as easily be the biggest money pit in the world ever as it could...
Yeah BMW have apparently recently upped the price of the SMG unit and, of course, will only supply the complete assembly and not just the bit that fails........
Even if the solenoid pack does go (which is incredibly rare) BBA reman will do a complete reconditioned SMG unit with lifetime...
Yeah the SMG pump motor is the usual issue, £400 or so plus fitting these days which any decent specialist can knock off reasonably quickly or it’s DIYable if you’re handy with the spanners, so it’s nowhere near the issue it used to be. Not that I checked it out before buying an SMG car or...
Nice one :)
Got a duff coil on mine too, went south when I took it into work one day last week. Just a shitty idle and then after a couple of minutes it popped the EML on, other than that it’s all good so it’s sat forlornly on the drive waiting for me to get my arse in gear and get the spanners...
The plus range has got a considerably bigger battery than the non-plus though, something like a third bigger, it's the one to have if you want decent battery life out of an iPhone.
The 8 apparently has slightly worse battery life than the 7 in all models because it has about a 10% smaller...
I had a separate cheapie laptop, I've had some fun and games with running various diagnostic kits in VMs - usually just getting the comms right - but that usually works too
I can't heel and toe to save my life. Size 13 feet plus being a clumsy b*****d. Therefore I welcome our computerised throttle-blipping overlords with open arms :)
One thing I hadn’t really appreciated about the X is that is gives you a screen the size of the 8 Plus in a body the size of an 8 (OK, not exactly, but near as damnit). That’s quite nice.
Good hands-on review of the 8 and 8+ here:

Looks like that’s one of the good things about it, you can vary all of the settings individually and assign them to a mode. Want the auto-blip off, suspension in max comfort, noisiest exhaust, most aggressive diff settings and medium throttle settings - you can have that, and any other...
Be interesting to see if there are decent discounts on these through brokers or not.
High praise from Sutcliff in that video, it’s like the best of the Megane RS range but more composed - blimey.
I've had wireless charging before on a previous phone, it's a "nice to have" but I can't honestly say I missed it when I went to a phone that didn't support it. I can see in the car with CarPlay and wireless charging it will be good, more convenient than sticking the phone in a holder and...
Just got the options through for the new work phone, all 64Gb models, iPhone 8 for nuffink, Pay £80 to go to iPhone 8+, or pay £250 and get the iPhone X.
Now that's a dilemma..... but does mean I'll always be contactable by work because I'll use the work phone for everything. Nah, screw that :D
Doh, yeah, it's an SE. Brain-keyboard interface failure :D
For what it's worth (which I appreciate isn't much, as it's all anecdotal), my work 6S has been running iOS 11 since Friday and that's fine too.
Have a look at the battery use chart and see if you can see a particular app that’s caning the battery, might be an older one that’s not yet been updated for iOS 11 and is causing an issue.
Also try a hard reset (hold down power and home key until the phone reboots) if you’ve not done it...
Got my pre-order in for the new one, very rarely do that so they must have done something right with the last two.
Not that I ever have time to play games these days :(
IIRC it’s one of the conditions of using the site that you have to check the details that actually get sent through on the policy and warrant that they’re correct before accepting the policy.
It sounds like a c**k up transferring the data over, it’s unfortunately not foolproof as things don’t...
