I looked last night & there are three yellow mk2 vee's on there !
although the other two looked to be a different shade of yellow (i guess it was the pics ?)
standard phase 2 rims are speedline vega's.
These wheels
The centre caps are metal (although renault only sell plastic ones now) and they cost £30 each !!! try ebay if you get a set of wheels without them (people nick them)
they are 15" and came with the same tyre profile as the turbines...
When some stupid bint smashed her door into the rear quarter of my valver (while I was sat in the car) she put a dent in the arch line, she denied it. I got the reg took it to the police & they did naff all !!
I filled out all of the forms etc & they sent back a letter a few weeks after saying...
I've been quoted £900 f/c on one (a mk1 worth 13k) so thats a steal !
Tbh the running costs don't really put me off, as you can always get parts cheaper than what some places quote. pLus I never leave myslef skint at the end of the month either.
I am weighing it up at the min. I will (like...
I think thats some peoples problems tbh, they don't budget for the actual cost of running the car.
Although I for one wouldn't be going to Renault to get it serviced etc (if it had one) a specialist will do the same job & be loads less. Plus most will either use genuine renault parts (or the...
If you put down what it is (may be part of the reg too) & any mods it had etc then maybe people have saved the pics themselves. I know loads have pics of other peoples cars.
If you monitor what is for sale on auto trader- most have been on there for a while now (some have been on for months)
I have been looking as I have always fancied a mk1 v6 - for 13k (on average) it seems great.
The insurance is only £100 more than I pay at the min too.
I think as well that...
^
thats what I though too.
Graham Goode Racing is very well respected amongst the rs boys. I doubt the dude would sell a sh*tter tbh.
Bit of a shame its not a lux model tbh (no leather, pop out windows & electric windows etc)
Give it to someone else.
It can be done with the engine in, iirc they just drop the subframe.
Find a decent renault specialist & get them to do it, it won't be more than £250 ish.
Places like mr clutch won't touch a valver (well not mine any way)
mines group 20 & cheaper (for me) to insure than a clio 172 & 172 cup !
- infact every where quoted me less for a cup than a 172. All on identical policies, with identical value cars.
If you are thinking of removing them i'd go it now as if you leave it a while (prob a few years tbh) the paint will have faded.
If not just leave them there.
As the car's so now I don't think you'll hava problem.
ukaskew - I know you really want a valver, have you considered a 106 gti instead ??
I'm not sure if there's any in your budget though & if so they may be ropey.
If I couldn't get a valver i'd get a 106gti (i did think about before I got the valver, but couldn't afford it at the time)
are renault ok to service a v6 clio ???
having read that they get most other ar*e about face, will they be ok with a v6 ??
or is it best off getting a specialist to do it ?
Tbh the green one sounds like a dog.
My old valver was what i'd call 'virtually mint' it was in top top mechanical condition, all it had were a couple of light scratches on the paint work & the wheels could have done with a re-rurb - thats it !!!
I sold her last July for £2,700 it was standard...
