My one plugs into the rear of the CD player, deleting the cd changer, then a wire goes from the connects2 box, and an 3.5m comes from the box and into my phone. Works perfectly on my iphone 6. It is pricey, like £30 iirc.

I suppose my car is similar, my gearbox speedo sensor is playing up so sometimes the needle works and sometimes doesn't. When the needle drops say sat at 70mph, i get a little 'boost', and when the needle comes back alive i feel it die a little. Weird.
