    I mean by measuring vertically down from the outside of the arch and then horizontal from the widest point on the tyre. My previous reply seemed tricky to understand

    Thanks for your help as I say the wheels are et 38 offset and I haven't done anything with camber (yet). When I measured the gap from arch to tyre, it seemed I had about 30mm all round but I wasn't sure whether this was a good enough gauge on whether the wheels would rub.
