Modified the downpipe to include the flexi now. I was going to run the flexi at the start of the center section, but after the above I thought I would try and make it fit in the gap. After a bit of measuring and cutting, managed to get it sat in the right place - along with making a brace to one...
You do realise you don't need the grubs screws in, right.............? The wheel, hub spigot and wheel bolts hold everything in place. The grub screw is just a retainer to stop the disc moving if you fit wheels like a re*ard.
TBH it should be, someone from the place I purchased them through is running an E30 with standard wheels on much lower, no issues. Said they have sold 100 sets of the Golds in the past couple of months and only had one other set back for a similar issue, so sounds likely.
I could probably do it in an hour or so, there isn't much in the way on the E30. Will see what happens once it drives...
Another bit of news - After sending more measurements to Gaz they seem to think there is a manufacturing fault with the front coilovers. They have made me a new pair from a...
So basically the top of the downpipe (well pre flexi) just needs bracing to the box then... As putting a brace after the flexi will pretty much achieve nothing as the flexi wouldn't be doing anything? The manifold/flanges have their own bracing already, so I just need to make one for the...
The flexi I've got will fit on the straight bit of the downpipe, and probably JUST fit between the chassis/gearbox, as that was the plan originally. I might just do it and then worry about it if it starts knocking. If I do that I guess its only worth bracing the top (turbo side) of the flexi to...
Well the original reason was 20mm-30mm, and sometimes up to 40mm are ran with single piece ARP studs on BTCC cars and others without issue, which will take 100x more load than I ever will be able to replicate..
Yes the Eibach spacers are exactly the same as what I am having made, but I cant...
Bit more of an update. Gained some more tyre stock a few weeks back - 8 x Michelin Pilot Sport Cups in 205/50/15, and 4 more slicks to go with the 4 I already had from the Clio.
Obviously I didn't make it to Oulton Park last Friday due to various issues, mainly down to suspension. After...
Didn't manage to get my car ready for Oulton last Friday, but ended up going down anyway to get a few pictures of everyone else. Blue Mk2 is obviously Jonff, Red Mk1 is AdamAnderton, Black Mk2 is Rob91..
SR20DET is a great engine when looked after and done properly, I've never really heard of them blowing up hence why I got one and decided to do it. Didn't want a lead block of metal like the 5 series v8 ;) This engine + box weighs ALOT less than the 318iS that came out also, never mind something...
Haha. You'l have to pop down sometime, the garage is only 4 miles down the A6 from Walkden!
Yeah I've wrote friday off and sold the spot now, there is just too much to sort. Planning on a cheap Oulton I've seen on the 3rd December, even better that its a Saturday.
Get it uploaded...its a masterpiece. You can see it here anyway ;)
There is no downpipe fitted, so tractor noises only im afraid. Turns out the ECU I got with the engine was buggered, the previous wiring diagram I was following was incorrect (http://www.mys15.org/S15_Tech/ecu.htm) which says...
Yeah spoke to a few people but not sure what the issue is and how the wheels went on with the standard suspension on, but not the aftermarket. I need to get them off later and double check the offset of them and take some other measurements.
Probably try the ECU later once I've got it back off...
