Yeah, probably going to give it a month or so and do a cheap Oulton then on a weekend (possibly 3rd December) so I've got time to get all this sh*te sorted. Il still be there on Friday for the day but just using the trailer for someone else
Glad someone laughed, I nearly retyped it but thought...
Won't be sorted now, got 3 major issues!
- The new suspension isn't right, front wheels rub on suspension (standard brakes/wheels for trial fitting) so they need to go back, sigh.
- ECU is shafted I think, so I picked up another last night, sigh again.
- Exhaust was supposed to be made...
Yeah Gaz ive got the S15 manual but those connectors make no sense. Im sure its just the oil pressure/battery light/solenoid wire, but I need to be sure. Maybe it does the knock sensor too but im not sure where it is on these engines..
Tim - nope not as of yet - ECU relay powers on, things turn...
No... its current state is how it stands in this threads pictures...
Having a few issues with the wiring now though too, it seems I'm missing part of the loom.
All wired up, ECU gets power, cranks over fine, etc. Although the ECU never triggers the fuel pump relay, so it wont start. Gaz you...
Well I failed at getting it running earlier, got the pump to run mind so Im happy the fuel lines/walbro pump are ok lol.
Got the loom back at home in the kitchen now in an attempt to sort it!
Yeah - I got the complete lot including having different rates and delivery for under £850, cheap really compared to what else is out there for the E30's
Just a bit - although from now its only a matter of getting it running and bolting stuff on. Trailering it at the weekend to have the...
About time for another update, lots more done. Picked up a different exhaust manifold off someone I knew for cheap...
Next job was to mount the intercooler so I could measure what pipes were required. The problem was the top of the chassis where the bolts needed to go is far from flat...
It was somehow running with a Ph1 inlet setup/cable throttle/idle control valve and Ph1 ECU, although a Ph2 UCH inside with climate control, Ph2 clocks etc. Had a 182 exh. manifold and you could just tell the engine had been shoddily put back in at some point. Unfortunately the owners were non...
Ive had enough of silly cars on the road for a good while yet. The Passat is probably the best car I've owned yet with regards to paying f*ck all for it, hammering it, having engines in the back, towing 1500kgs+ all the time, full of sh*te all the time and I don't even have to care about it -...
Cheers for the comments everyone. Just got home to find some nice new suspension has been delivered, along with ARBs and a few other bits. Got pretty much everything bar the front brakes so should hopefully get a lot done considering its all nuts and bolts now! Picked up some new turbo and...
Yeah. Should have it running this weekend all being well, then making an exhaust up next week and sorting seat mounts - just tidying the small bits up then!
Yeah, really nice car!
Stud conversion finished on all four corners. Milled out the threads on the rear stubs to 1/2", then got two new front hubs/bearings (come as a complete unit) and milled those out too...
Ordered 16 x 12x1.5 studs and open ended nuts. Got the longest ones I could again like on the Clio...
Exactly this.... Its the part I most enjoy about doing things like this - finding, fabricating and making things work.
Got a bit more done last night - As mentioned previously I thought about making another down pipe to do away with the flange that's on the short turbo down pipe. I had a bit...
Bit more of an update from the weekend. Made up two 14mm spacers for the E36 rack (as the mounting points aren't as tall as an E30)..
Then fitted the rack to the front subframe..
I decided to fit the new front wishbones before the engine as its easier to get to the bolts etc, so set about...
Unsure - from what I've read (and researched about the pins on the engine loom) it should just run after I've made up a fuel pump and ignition relay and connected 4-5 wires - thats how the other conversions have done it upto now. Will see this week when I get it going hopefully!
Yeah - well I...
