Try Old Hall in 4th for me as well. I've thought about trying it.
Can brake later and not have to worry about changing down to 3rd and then back on the power.
I know yeah. I can never decide which gear to use.
It's a bit quick for 2nd and 3rd can be a bit slow. Although it may just feel slow, could smoother/quicker.
I don't think the traffic helped either mate, was busy on track to try and get a good few laps in to warm up.
Same problems for my mates in the Meganes on slicks.
Personally i think it's "stage 2" cars with 630cc injectors that are the problem too. The pump is struggling i think.
Not seen a stage 1 or standard Megane do it yet tbh.
@renaultpartsdirect on here might be able to help.
What have you done with that tensioner spring? You say you've reconned those parts. It's not ideal to re-use the tensioner either, if it fails the aux belt will likely take out your cambelt when it goes and destroy the engine.
I would advise against a lightened crank pulley tbh.
They are haramonically balanced/dampened with the rubber damper, removing this you are then opening it up to vibrations from the crank possibly destroying the engine.
