you have to get springs made, dont bother with shrinking them etc, ive been there and tried it. search for spring manufacturers on google, d.faulkner springs to mind (no pun intended lol)

when you make springs smaller than the size they were made, they loose some of their rate, and they loose more according to the more you take off....which means there will be no travel and you will have springs that have no 'spring' so to speak

itl be going back in tommorow, only just got the cross piece done today, re-sanded it all down and started painting it
