    One thing i have noticed is that the volume button is a tad loose, so it rattles a bit. I'll see how it goes, no doubt will be fine with a case on. Otherwise i'll contact Google.

    It seems great up to now. Screen is noticeably different compared to my 6p, the whites are properly white instead of a tan colour.

    Doesn't look like a harness bar as such. It's more like they've made it so that it raises the angle of the harnesses, whether it works or is safe is another question. In theory it might work :confused:

    It will need draining yes. The repair kit 32 01 043 88R is £320 ish and i'm sure there's still bits missing from that kit to complete it.

    Never get mine to kick in with ad08s either. Cars are just too light to overcome the grip level I reckon.

    Do you have a shorter final drive, I noticed when you change to 5th that the revs seemed to stay up in the power band.

    The repair manuals say 2000rpm for around 20 minutes to get the fan to kick in I think from memory.

    Might be worth changing the thermostat while he's there too, you mentioned cooling problems? Don't forget the stat housing gasket too if you do.

    If it's not even cranking then it's a power problem. Start with the burning smell. Check battery earth and fuses.

    Always pays to have them balanced by someone who does it properly. Half of these tyre places don't seem to bother.
