Outta curiousity what would most places charge to replace a sump gasket ?
Would they ream you price wise and say its a c**t of a job that'll take hours :(
After checking my gearbox oil the other day i wandered if the sump gaskets can weep too the same as the gearbox does (touch wood mine...
And don't overtighten the 10mm Bolts that go into the inlets, as for torque of them.
Fcuk knows, just tight....
A bit of duck tape or something over the lower inlet holes may be an idea after you've remove the upper inlet (plenum stamped with Renault Sport) before you start.
You dont want...
Should be fine.....
Better to have a cover than nothing there at all.
As for the sponge stuff i dunno what thats for.
Maybe sound insulation or to soak up the drips from the never ending gear oil Rs clios weep out :dapprove:
I read on here somewhere that Rs clios don't favour Castrol too well.
I'd top up the oil but the stop and engine lights coming on would worry me as the oil light normally comes on when theres a lack of oil pressure dont it ?
And for lack of pressure the oil level must be well down or oil pump...
Anyone know how standard oem Renault pads perform with Brembo Max's ?
No trackdays intended, only spirited back roads drives on the odd occasion
As Ferodos etc are a bit costly and i'm guessing the brake dust would kill my Turinis :(
I am planning on replacing the two lower ball joints on my Ph2.
Before i attempt to remove bolts and possibly snap them (even though they will be soaked in WD40)i was wandering if anyone knows what size the bolts are so i have spares ready and the car aint of the road.
And is the top bolt...
There Speedline Turinis in Anthercite from Larkspeed.
There identical to the ones KTec sell but Larkspeed were cheaper with Toyo T1R's.
Cheers
I should have maybe waited till i washed car etc before i took the latest pics as they do no justice.
I dunno what else i should get CF wise :S...
f**king hell !!!!
Its a bit of a shitter whats happened mate but i guess the good thing is things are happening to get the car back on the road althought you'll be a bit lighter £££'s wise :(
If it was a material defect in the valve itself, couldn't you keep all the evidence and try and claim...
Whether its a garage or mobile mechanic that does the oil change your still better to check levels etc before you hand over the cash mate.
And as said before, the time the oil pressure light comes on.
Its usually too late, the damage is done :(
As said above you may need a fair amount if fluid as getting air out of the ABS Pump/Unit can be a pain in the arse.
Just keep bleeding and take your time and don't rush, as after all your brakes are pretty useful.
It may be worth a thread on here to see if theres any special way of bleding...
