Velocity would be lower but cfm would be higher, I wondered if the larger port would compensate for the lower velocity air where the port was dimpled around the valve stem area and so improving overall flow

Did port size make any difference, Say Making the port 2mm oversize to compensate for the slower air velocity?

I think these D24's Pump's had a 10mm Plunger anyway Craig, If you want serious amount of coal bolt on the pump from the DAF 45 / Leyland Roadrunner which were fitted with the cummins 6bt they were a Bosch VE and were 6 pot.
