I meant to post a picture of the cap because it might help other 'non-techie' folks like myself.
So, the top part of the cap actually separated from the body. When I was trying to twist it, the body wasn't moving at all, which meant it wasn't sealing properly.
Been out again today and no...
Hope everyone had a good Christmas. Good news: I think I found the oil leak.
Dodgy oil cap. I never noticed any oil before - the downside of having an engine cover, I guess - but I got the odd whiff of oil over the last few weeks and it obviously got a lot worse and spilled over into the...
It’s doable but you’ll need to cut around your carpets and cut into the dash. You’ll lose the glovebox. I couldn’t be arsed so stripped it right back. Lots of pics if you need them.
Not much to update really other than I've discovered a minor leak from the gearbox selector seal. It’ll need addressing sooner or later, as it’s only going to get worse.
That said, it’s winter, and I just can’t muster the enthusiasm right now. I’ve got a stack of refreshed parts ready to fit...
I’ve restored a fair few of these now, and kits from Bigg Red won’t cost the earth. You’ll get them sorted for under a hundred quid including kits and paint.

The one in your post is correct. Here’s a pic of some spares I have to compare numbers.
Genuine part number and OEM numbers are as follows:
RH Front Caliper - P/N (7701205833) - OEM Mfr. TRW-Lucas P/N (BHW242)
LH Front Caliper - P/N (7701205832) - OEM Mfr. TRW-Lucas P/N (BHW241
I'd have loved one of these when they were new as they drive so differently when they're factory, from one that's been messed around with.
My insurance quote has just come back for my 182 with e-sure and it's £12.12 per month. My leased Sportage is £900 p.a. I can't get my head around it.
Yeah, she's wrong about the Clio 182s being labelled as Phase 3, and getting confused with the global production timeline of all Clio models (different countries). The OP was clearly asking about UK Sports production models. My understanding of the Clio production by MY.
First Generation (Clio...
I love this and hate it at the same time. I love it because you can see it looks genuine (I always look for that little bit of sponge under the bonnet near the NS front wing – very few have this). I hate it because I’d want to remove all the surface rust and make it look new – which costs more...
Yeah they’re impossible to get out without damaging them and years of corrosion and heat cycles don’t help. Just get a slightly larger drill bit and run it through.
Assuming they’re the correct ones, they’re usually tight. I always run a slightly larger drill bit through mine in case I need to remove them in the future.
Is it just for track?
Why not just get Group N timing, and have Chris at EFi remap it? It’ll transform how the car performs without breaking the bank.
Fundamentals first: suspension, geo, tyres, brakes, then do the above. I've seen too many Clios around circuits with different cam setups and...
I know what you mean. My grandkids love my Racing Blue 182. They call it "Little Bluey". They all sit in it and pretend to go to the beach and McDonald's lol
