The metal tube your on about sounds like the female part of a bullet connector. Crimp a male bullet connector onto your amp cable then push it inside the headunit cable. Wrap some insulation tape around it while your there too.

This happened on mine. I replaced the regulator twice and a new switch. Ended up being a relay from under the glovebox. You need 2 people. One to keep pressing the switch up and down. The other to feel under the glovebox. Put your finger on each relay and you will feel one clicking. Pull it...

I convoyed with sax-p last year (i had a saxo). We stopped about 6 times on the way up picking up more and more people, ended up at the hotel where the rest of the sax-p lot were staying. Must have been around 60 saxos in a line on the way to the show which was quite a sight!

Im around 30 mins from bluewater so ill be leaving mine around 4! getting up around 3.30 lol.
