Normal tyres are plenty legal, just wanted to swap from 18" to 19" ASAP for the looks! Guess I'll just hold off a while and be sensible!

These are proper winter tyres, not just rain specific. I understand they're going to be worse grip wise than my summer conti's but they're on some 19's that I've bought and I'm too impatient to wait until the bad weather before I fit them!

Will it ruin decent winter tyres by using them in the dry whilst it's warm?!

Gave the car a weekend of loving since the weather was nice down here. Started with a quick wash and clay/de-tar on Saturday afternoon, interrupted by cleaning my mates Focus ST! Then finished it off this afternoon with a quick blast of SRP and some Chemical Guys wax, glass polished, wheels...

Just bought a set of wheels and winter tyres for the M3, never really bothered previously as if it was really bad I just wouldn't drive, but I think they'll be needed this year with doing more miles too!

I've done this with most cars, helps keep a track of everything properly. Although I'm probably a bit worse as I've got it on excel so it's easier to look at when selling too!!

18's are staying, having my other set refurbed at the minute. Got a new set of tyres waiting so will be sticking with them until they're done anyways.

My mate nipped out with me a few weeks back as I wanted some good quality pictures of my car, he's a photographer/director kind of person so knows his s**t I'm assuming! Anyways, just got these through.....there's quite a few more but these are the best Personal favourite

Only takes an hour? I've seen things about people redoing and leaving overnight after each coat to dry before reapplying etc, an hour seems pretty quick?! Will it not peel off after a while?!

That's a bit excitable! Cos I like having a border on a plate, personal opinion and all that? I could say the same thing about you spunking £40+k on a golf in drag but I don't!

Where abouts are you mate? How long would it take etc? Do you know where to get the dye from to match and would you be able to just do the 2 fronts?

This was the liquid leather stuff creedo, it's pretty good. Will still get someone to redye it as you can still see the wear etc, but for now it's much better and not as obvious.

Got the car back from the bodyshop with a bit of a freshen up. Also got my new plates made up for when they are transferred on, front is a 3/4 size just cut down, looks tiny! Not sure if it might be a bit too much of a pisstake but will see when it's on. Had the outside of the black grill...

I think it's a proper one as such. My bodyshop preps the cars for a team that race in gulf colours. The main driver lives fairly local I think, and pretty sure he built a road legal one for a laugh from what I'm told. He's got some nice cars!

The pics are a bit of fun, a lot of hate! The 18's look so much better in person, and as said a lot rarer I think! I think I'll wack some cookies on it which sshould make them look a lot nicer and then go from there. Plus it's a lot easier to find cool wheels that most people don't have in 18's...

Grills will be changed so solves one, and the plate can always be put on so will see how it looks. Nothing is permanent at the minute so I;m not too fussed if it looks s**t or not! Personally I think it will look good though...! I hope!

Bit of an update on the car. Managed to get a Mk4 nav unit and digital TV box, so now just need to sort bluetooth out one way or another for the AV side to be complete. Dropped the car at the bodyshop for rear arch rust and front bumper respray this evening too. Still got a way to go but...

I have 2 sets of 18's now. Might look a bit better when lowered and spaced out on them, then see what takes my fancy. Colour change on 18's maybe?

Thanks Chris, will have a look on there for them. Took a few pictures this weekend after giving it a decent clean. There's a lot more bodywork that needs sorting than I originally thought, near on a full respray to get it as mint as I want it so that's another job for the list I guess...
