Get a decent set of Coilovers, like H&R/KW and the ride is pretty much O.E. My 197 was bob on, when we fitted them to kevs 200, it felt no different to the Cupped set up according to him! I want one VERY badly, but cant, bad times :(

Indeed, i wouldn't. If you 'drive' your car and not pimp about town, don't bother. I ran mine on H&R coilovers for about 18months before trying some spacers, so knew everything about how it felt/reacted (awesome) Fitted some spacers, and it ruined the car. Felt so nervous on the brakes, seemed...

If its too low you'll pop that circlip on the diff...... Also when super low, the driveshaft can catch the subframe (could be the scrubbing/rubbing) :)

Wish i hadnt sold the 197. However the Cup is perfect for saving with impending house purchase early next year, cheaper to run in terms of insurance/fuel/less to go wrong with no keyless and what not.. Get the house sorted, then see what happens.

Just get some eibach sportlines for a 172. Done. Steer away from apex and other cheapies as they are very crashy......

Fine mate! Idles better and does pick up better below 5k. Only really wanted it to sort the idle issue, just seemed a little low (well lower than my previous 172/182) Coupled with decat and inlets, it all helps i suppose :)
