Afaik a paint cleanser will effectively clean the paint up so making it better for the wax to bond to. If u are planning to use EGP though and a wax i would just use SRP as it has some fillers in which will help with the finish. The megs clay bar is a good one , £12 i think of most traders...

i prefer using carnauba based products for a deeper look, on racing blue i feel more synthetic products give a sharper look but lose a little bit of depth

washd with Sonax SRP EZ creme glaze Acyrlic JEtt 50/50 then the next day i didnt like the look of acrylic jett soi added a layer of blitz then 50/50 , then yesterday i wasnt happy so i washd then applied a thin coat of Jeffs Carnauba then highlihted with 50/50
