Would have thought the best would be the Viper, BMC CDA or similar which is protected from under bonnet heat by fully encasing the filter by carbon fibre.
Think my CDA is providing more air and ECU probably adjusting fuel to suit as fuel consumption has gone up as has power. 11 bhp increase...
A Fiat tuning specialist sorted out my CDA, fabricating the adaptor much the same like in the pic above and then SFS hose attached to the CDA facing backwards. Hopefully they will sort out others too. Total cost somewhere between £200-250 I think but CDA looks bigger (better?) than the Viper...
Nick,
Your adaptor looks the same as what Steve got done for me. Silicone hose then goes on that in a 90 degree bend, although think more acute angle is better and then attaches to the CDA aimed backwards to the coolant tank. Will yours not fit there? Noy sre with all your NO2 etc !!!
Did...
Optimax is just a SUL type from Shell rather than calling it SUL. Supposd to be cleaner, better etc but whether it is 98Ron I dont know. Cant say Ive looked at the pumps.
Just topped up with normal Shell so have a mixed tank, 72.7 rather than 77.7 for Optimax so actually 5p a litre...

Cheers all. Could not find anything in my Haynes manual about changing or draing oil, just the filler on the side which is also how you check the level.
Will get it on the ramps and have a look. Redline stuff I was gonna get is synthetic and is apparently good for slicker 1st and 2nd gear...

Although cannot find any info as to when to carry this out, want to do my 16v as its done 66K and want to give it some TLC.
Is it easy enough to do? Any1 used Redline MT90 oil?

Yeah everything is cool apart from no filters on the breather hoses. Probably could do with a chip now to sort everything out as I am sure more air is being used.

Just got your email mate as hotmail has been playing up. Think I answered your Q but 4got about breather pipes.
They will have BMC filters on them too but they might design the hose to have somekind of fitment for them.
Would be good idea to speak to Steve on the no. given.
Hope you get as much from them as possible mate. Yours was mint and you should definately keep stuff like wheels and tyres and interior for your new one.
I too would be interested in the leather maybe if you decide to sell as mine retrimmed in half leather.half alcantera will be quite...

Watch out for EBC prices. Price is per disk and not a pair which seems stupid.
I got Tarox G88 40 groove disks which were £120 from Prima inc VAT. Hopefully getting to fit them this weekend if weather is better than last.
Nick, forgot to say car pulls a hell of a lot better now than with the K&N, quieter too. Car feels like it did when I first drove it, got a little accustomed to it of late so its nice to be suprised by the performance again.
Only down side is I have no room to fit my battery charger in the...
RR was 126 at the wheels, approx 148 at the flywheel is you use 15% as transmission loss. Thought that wasnt bad considering only this and a magnex cat back system resulted in 11 bhp more than standard.
Torque figures were worked out to be 123NM at 2K, 142NM at 3K, 164NM 4-5K, 158NM at 6K and...
Is there a benefit of fitting lighter wheels like OZ superleggeras to a car?
From my cycling background I understand and rotational weight saving is worth twice as much as any sprung weight saving. Theory is it is a lot easier to pedal a lighter wheel up a hill.
Not sure if on a car it...
Agreed Joe. I for one am changing things as they need changing. Tarox brakes which I hope are better than standard as my standard are knackered, stainless hoses, fluid change etc. As things wear out I want to repace with items of similar or higher quality with the hope that they will work as...
The banter on here is good but arguments tend not to answer anything so I am leaving this well alone. People are ebtitled to their own views and some people seem bliinded or of unchangeable opinion.
Just some examples why I feel car manufacturers DONT know everything! Brake Pads- standard or...
