That's because it wasn't! Lol! Everything has sold mate now apart from the turinis and the gearbox (for obvious reasons), but I have someone interested in it once it's been repaired.
I've been in conversation with Richard now for a good few months as he was keen for me to build them an engine...
The graph is a few pages back mate.
Yeah I can see the problem immediately. The mk2 head is s**t. The ports are too big and had material removed from the wrong areas, they're the wrong design and the valves are also shrouded.
Combustion chamber on the mk3 head is far superior, as are the...
Well by extending the track width, you end up with massive negative camber. This in turn means that the hub angle needs altering to correct the geo, so this in turn alters the scrub radius.
I'm the one who did/does the roll centre kit mate. Correction of roll centres is just one of the major items that need to be addressed.
The Ackerman angle was altered by Renault on the 60mm spacing hubs compared to the 54mm items, and it's noticeable. How much improvement you get is unclear...
The majority, if not all the Clio racers on here run with a stiffer rear spring mate. It's all to do with insufficient roll control, so you cheat and use stiffer springs instead. On a fwd car, the rear controls what the front end does.
It can have quite a dramatic effect on steering feel and stability mate if you alter the scrub radius too much.
Have a read on the link below for the full sp.

I personally see thicker head gaskets as bodging mate, but yeah it would work. You'd need to cc the chambers etc though to see if it will gain you enough of a drop.
1) You're better off with the M45 unit off a c200 merc mate as they don't have the electrically activated pulley. M62's are a bit big for a 2ltr tbh, but they would still work. Another option is the M45 off the cooper s as that will also give you the ability to run a pas pump or alternator off...
I'd only send a head to ALD for porting if you want it to come back absolutely f**king ruined mate. On more than 1 occasion, he's left swarf/debris in oil ways and its scrapped the head and an engine in one case I believe. He's had too much skimmed off one as well raising the compression ratio...
If it's crunching into 2nd gear, you are in for a big repair bill mate!! They don't do the original synchro for 2nd gear anymore, so you need the updated kit which is £200 straight off. After that your into £380 for the bits to sort the crunchy 3rd and 4th gear. Labour on top.
