    197 Gearbox Issues

I'm guessing because the clutch wasn't fully engaging/disengaging due to the slave cylinder. Essentially the same as trying to put it in gear without the use of the clutch. Did it grind when you tried to put it in gear with the engine running?

    Possible slave cylinder issue?

Which filter is going to be original at 65k? Other than the fuel filter all the rest should have been replaced multiple times by now? Who did the belts out of interest?

    Clio V6 - Showroom?

I think the 440 miles from Edinburgh to Beaulieu might be a problem for the OP! :tongueout:

    Clio V6 - Showroom?

So - basically you want somewhere free to park your Clio V6? What would the Renault dealership be gaining from this deal? Other than having to look after/protect/insure your car? Surely they would rather have something in the showroom that they can use to advertise/sell the current range of...

Took my engine out, things don't look good.

Second hand engine with belts done not a better option?

The Mini is dead, long live the half-dead Clio 182 instead.

I've managed to avoid it so far, and I sold my 197 back in Feb 2014. Time yet though.

    Driveshaft....

I'm sure I've read that they are too short from ECP. There's an ebay seller or similar that folks use. Someone will be along I'm sure.

    Exhaust and cat time

It says 'Noise levels without catalyst are 71dB at idle and 88dB at 4500 rpm'. You should be fine mate

    Exhaust and cat time

PMS website only list it with a centre silencer. You should be fine @Speedy300 http://www.pure-motorsport.co.uk/clio-2-rs182/clio-2-rs182-exhaust/182-racing-exhaust-system.html

    Pug 206 issue

Has any proper diagnostics been done? Or have the AA folks come out, fiddled with some connections under the bonnet and sent you on your way? If the temp light is flashing up, have you checked the water temp to make sure it's a false reading and not actually boiling up? It's French, and old...

    Pug 206 issue

Ahh yes, tight cable ties restricting the flow of electricity - common that.

    Is my mpg normal?

Are you calculating it properly or replying on the on board figures the car provides? The only true way is to brim the tank. Drive it for a few days and fill it again. You can then see EXACTLY how much fuel has been used over what distance.

    Apple CarPlay / USB Issues

Yes, every iPhone I've had (bar my current 7 plus) has had charging issues at least once in it's lifespan. And every time it's been fluff in the charging port. I always use a wooden cocktail stick to clean the port out.

    Noob brake question

If you want to remove them, the standard bolt is a 12mm female hex head bolt. Remove them and the caliper can be removed.

    Noob brake question

No need to remove the calipers. Just knock the 2 retaining pins out and the pads can be removed.

    I hate locking wheel nuts

What did the wheels look like after that? I've managed to remove a set of them with the rotating outer ring before. I smashed a smaller socket on and the outer ring gripped the centre and came undone.

    Exhaust fumes in the car

The vents are there to allow the pressure to escape as you close the doors. I doubt it's coming through there, maybe whilst stationary but not whilst moving. Maybe its the cat/manifold join and is only opening up under load?

Who's bringing what? Other Marques @CSF..

Never been before, but I'll book a weekend pass and come stay over. Sounds like a laugh. Not sure about track time though. Never been on track, and I'm not sure I want to start with a C63

    Temp Needle Incorrect

If you get the cluster out you should be able to separate it and adjust the needle. I'd say your fuel gauge looks a little high if that's with the power off. I assumed the OP meant that it still worked but it had dropped below the zero position (it does look very low in the picture)

    Wheel Size affect on Height

There's an echo in here There's an echo in here There's an echo in here There's an echo in here There's an echo in here
  30. Chrisgti6

    Wheel Size affect on Height

No, it'll increase the arch gap as the wheel is smaller overall. The car will sit lower to the ground, so yes you will have lowered it. But the arch gap won't get smaller.
