You shouldn't really mix and match a crownwheel and pinion mate.
For maximum performance i'd opt for the gripper personally, but it comes down to personal preference. I chose the Quaife because I got it at a extremely good price.
Crownwheel bolts on mate. Also the gripper won't need servicing anywhere near as often as they've done something with the plates. It will need servicing, but we are talking multiple years, not every year.
Unfortunately mate I'm going to go bigger than the 280's if I fit 4 pots so they wouldn't be of any use to me. If i think of anyone else though I'll send them your way.

Well you need to find a ignition + and an earth point from around the dash area. The earth can be the dash bar basically, or anything metal that's attached to the bodyshell. The ignition positive needs a multi meter to locate, but there's one in the wiring for the wiper/indicator stalks.
