this happens when i indicate: the sidelight flashes and so does the reversing light, and the indicator is very slightly flashing i think it's a bad connection but i'm wondering how i can sort it/where to go to get it done because i need the car for work tomorrow, and obviously driving with...

yeah, 172 and 182 wings are the same part and you could even find someone breaking a 182/172 and use that wing. it'll probably be cheaper and you might even find one in the colour you're looking for :)

possibly, it did look a lot higher before i put the wheels on and i was surprised myself at how much lower it looked before pic:
