when it takes 3 shots of M60 to drop someone, I'm grateful that I've got 100 in the clip.
especailly giventhat it can take anywhere upto 5 shots to get a hit. :)
The best mods are things like:-
New tyres when the old ones are knackered
new brakes when the old ones have given in
some new oil and filers every year
change the odd part now and again
y'kno, the kind of "subtle" mods that make sence.
Although a stealth shelf to hide the 6x9's away...
maybe due to the number of 19yr-olds that upgrade from a 1.2 shopping trolley straight into an RS and proceed to wrap it around the nearest lamppost?

Nope, cambelt was fine.
2 years beforehand I had renault change the belts, tensioners and whatnot, but the aux belt slipped, pulled on the alternator, tore it from it's mounts.
because of this there was no water pump and no electric.
so I wind up on the hard shoulder, bonnet-up, waiting for...
in 3 years:-
Supplied with knackered battery (replaced by AA for £35)
Dropped the back box (£70)
which led to the centre pipe going wayward (£50)
then the aux-belt / Alternator incident (AA picked up £400 of costs, leaving just £95 to pay for a new alternator, aux belt and the labour)

from what I understand, if the cost of repair is something like 50% of the market value of the car, it's a write off.
I was within £80 of the 172 being written off after some geriatric decided to drive into the front wheel arch (new wing, various suspension parts, paint and other sundry parts...
