Nicely put Mark :D 30k and 24 months with my 172 and I feel the same. Cant quite say the same about the lack of rattles, but who cares. Have no plans to get rid of mine for a long time.

Depends what he means by carbon detailing The MK2 172 does have them in carbon effect.... just a very cheap printed effect. have never liked those bits.

Dont use tyres that are nearly new with lots of tread on them. Better to use ones with a few mm of tread. Youll get better grip and they wont wear as quickly. Wear depends on how hard you drive and the pressures you run. You can raise the pressures over what you normally run on the road which...

Looks like a good job. Im presuming you already had a 182 bumper or could get hold of one cheap then? (rather than buying a 172 one).
