How can you possibly nail a set of tyres in 2500 miles !?
I had Paradas on my Clio for about 18 months, did about 15k on them and they were no where near worn out. I hardly pussyfooted about anywhere either TBH.
Hankook V12 evos would be my recommendation, or Uniroyal RS2/3s
Infact, Scott has one for sale which should do you comfortably for a while !

Little update of the GS:
Yozza sitting in the conservatory to be fitted at the w/e !
(imagine picture of Yozza here)
Got home to find my ITG on the table yesterday, which has made the beast perk up a little .. the standard filter in the V6 box made a nice noise but flatspot central ...
If that's got FULL history, belts all done yesterday by a specialist, a full tank of fuel, a years tax, a fresh MOT and £500 in the boot in used £20s, it's a bargain.
^ Not quite got the same ring to it as a Dr Pepper advert haha !
As long as the surface is prepped (i.e.: grease free) it can only flake off the first time you get some heat into the system ;) Give it a go !
Painting them is a mission. The previous owner did, and it was flaking off when I got it for whatever reason. I had them powdercoated "black" haha... !
Hmm.. nevermind .. buy right, buy once ;)
When you eventually get coilies fitted, get them set up properly
Noticed you saying you're going to fit lowering springs and new shocks ? That's probably most of the price of a 1/2 decent set of coilies .. if you're going to do a job, do it properly man ;)
Why bother ? It's £5 as you say. No one's going to turn a car down on the basis of an after market aerial, unless it looks like it can pick up broadcasts from Jupiter haha ;)
